Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Position Summary: This position is in the Office of the Attorney General within the Statewide Prosecution - Cyber Fraud Enforcement Unit (CFE) located in the Ft. Lauderdale office.
Pay: $111,394.14 Annually
Qualifications: Membership in the Florida Bar and five (5) years of criminal trial law experience
Preference may be given to candidates with Criminal Prosecution experience.
The Work You Will Do: This position will focus on the prosecution of crimes related solely to Cyber Fraud. This includes any crimes of fraud where cyber spaces, computer network systems, or smartphone apps were used as a main mechanism to further, commit, or facilitate the fraud. This also includes crimes where cryptocurrency is a main feature of the case. The most commonly handled cases in the Cyberfraud Unit include: Fraud Shops, Business Email Compromises/Romance Scams/Social Engineering, Impersonation Scams, Call Center/Tech Support/ Bank Scams/ Grandparent Scams, SIM Swaps, Identity Theft, Data Breach, Criminal Use of PII, Cryptocurrency Theft, Cryptocurrency Used to Facilitate a Theft, Network Intrusions (hacking), Account takeovers, Dark Web Marketplaces are becoming a priority.
